The Story
A Russian bombing raid in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region on Monday struck a school that was operating as a humanitarian aid distribution center and shelter, killing at least 31 people and leaving dozens missing.
Emergency responders and rescue teams continued searching through the cratered blast site and rubble on Tuesday. Additional overnight strikes across Ukraine targeted power plants, damaged hospitals, and wounded scores of people. Hours after the attack, the United States announced that peace talks between Russia and Ukraine would resume after a hiatus of nine months.
