Swiss Police Arrest 43-Year-Old Man in Deadly Aarau Rave Shooting

Swiss police arrested a 43-year-old Swiss man on Monday in connection with a deadly shooting at a rave in Aarau over the weekend.

The shooting occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning at an annual rave held at a covered horse race track in Aarau, the capital of Switzerland's northern Aargau canton. A 22-year-old Italian woman was killed in the incident. Five other people, aged between 24 and 31, sustained injuries. Police stated the arrest was made on strong suspicion and believe the arrested man is the sole perpetrator of the crime.

Prior to the arrest, a manhunt was underway to locate the individual responsible for the gunfire. The incident prompted a police investigation in the region. Roses were placed by local residents in memory of the victim of the shooting.
