Influencers invited to the Republican Midterm Convention largely avoided discussing the economy. On night two, Republican speakers at the Dallas convention portrayed Democrats as a threat, using terms such as "Communists" and "Islamists."

Protesters rallied outside the event. President Trump concluded the convention by stating his desire to lead his party through the upcoming midterms and implored attendees to "Go and Vote." The Republican National Committee's first-ever midterm convention, nicknamed "Trump-a-palooza," began on Wednesday in Dallas. Vice President JD Vance took center stage on Thursday. President Trump headlined the opening night, promising Americans $5,000 dividends if his party retained control of both chambers of Congress.

He also defended the war in Iran and told the crowd not to boo Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.), saying "John is working hard." The convention aimed to mobilize voters for the November elections, which will determine control of Congress for President Trump's last two years in office. The event sought to unite conservatives and Trump allies.

The convention's atmosphere contrasted with the 1984 Republican convention in Dallas, which featured displays of party unity with speeches from former President Gerald Ford and Barry Goldwater. Fred Trump III, President Trump's nephew, posted on X that his uncle had turned the event into a clown show and a tragic joke.
