Apple Launches iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro; Preorders Begin September 12
The Story
Preorders for Apple's iPhone 18 Pro begin Saturday, September 12, at 5 a.m. PT, priced at $1,199.
Preorders for the iPhone Duo start Friday, October 16, at 5 a.m. PT, priced at $1,999. Both new models are available through AT&T and Verizon. Accessories such as drop-resistant cases, screen protectors, and phone lanyards are available, with select items up to 68% off. The iPhone Duo is Apple's first foldable iPhone, unveiled at the company's 2026 event.
It features a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR display when open, offering 50% more screen area than the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and a 5.4-inch outer display. Apple developed a custom nano-texture finish for the Duo to reduce glare and minimize crease visibility. Christopher Nolan's film 'Odyssey' perfectly fits the iPhone Duo's inner-screen ratio of 1.4217:1 in landscape mode.
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are powered by Apple's new A20 Pro chip, which the company states offers up to 40% better sustained performance. The main camera on these phones includes variable aperture technology. John Ternus debuted as Apple's CEO at the event. Older iPhone models have also seen price increases in India, with some rising by 41%.
