Israeli Forces Kill Palestinian in Gaza, Arrest Farmers; Qatar Accuses Netanyahu
The Story
Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of sabotaging Gaza peace efforts for his own political gain on Saturday.
Separately, Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian man in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, according to Wafa news agency, citing sources at Gaza City’s al-Shifa Hospital. Israeli forces also arrested four Palestinian farmers harvesting olives on their land east of Tulkarem in the occupied West Bank, near the Israeli settlement of Einav.
Al-Thani claimed Israel has not fulfilled its commitment under the October 2025 Sharm el-Sheikh agreement, which called for a ceasefire and the release of Israeli hostages. He stated Israel occupies over 70% of the strip and continues killings, instead of withdrawing, and that the average number of humanitarian trucks entering Gaza daily is 150, despite the agreement requiring a minimum of 600.
Al-Thani denied Israeli allegations of Qatar funneling money to Hamas's military wing, stating no single penny reached it without the full coordination and consent of the United Nations and the Israeli government. Wafa news agency reported that over 1,400 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza by Israeli forces since last year's ceasefire. Israeli drone attacks wounded several Palestinians, including a child, on the outskirts of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, while eastern parts of the city came under Israeli artillery fire.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported that settlers damaged, destroyed, or seized approximately 160 water and sanitation structures in Palestinian communities in 2026. Israeli forces also raided several West Bank towns and refugee camps, including Qalandia, Kafr Aqab, and al-Am'ari.
