Chinese President Xi Jinping returned to Beijing after concluding his three-day state visit to the United States.

President Donald Trump stated the visit was very positive for both countries and marked friendship, strength, and success between the US and China. The visit concluded on Friday with President Trump taking President Xi to the National Archives to view the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Trump and Xi held a private tea at the White House on the final day of the visit.

Discussions between the two leaders included artificial intelligence and Iran, with President Trump making it very clear that any support for Iran from China was totally unacceptable. Chinese officials expressed frustration over President Trump's disruption to TV coverage during Xi's visit. The visit was criticized for being heavy on pomp. This marked Xi Jinping's first state visit to the U.S. in over a decade, and he also marked his second Mid-Autumn Festival on American soil during the trip. Chinese aesthetics were present in the outfits of Chinese officials and members of the US delegation at the state dinner.
