The campaign of United States Senate candidate Mary Peltola filed a lawsuit in Anchorage Superior Court against the Alaska Division of Elections seeking access to records identifying voters whose absentee ballots were rejected.

Alaskans for Mary requested an expedited temporary restraining order and injunction to compel the state to disclose the names of voters with rejected absentee ballots and the reasons for each rejection before election certification later in the month. The campaign argued that accessing the records is necessary to ensure that qualified voters had their ballots properly counted in the razor-thin race where incumbent Republican Senator Dan Sullivan leads by a narrow margin of roughly six hundred to seven hundred votes. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump declared on social media that the Alaska race was over and that Sullivan had won.
