MAGA Inc. Commits $10 Million to Ken Paxton's Texas Senate Race

President Donald Trump’s MAGA Inc. super PAC is committing at least $10 million to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in his Senate race against Democrat James Talarico.

A Federal Election Commission filing on Saturday detailed $5 million for promoting Paxton and another $5 million for attacking Talarico. This marks MAGA Inc.’s first reported investment in a competitive 2026 general election race, following calls from Republicans for Trump and his allies to invest more heavily. MAGA Inc. spokesperson Alex Pfeiffer stated the group will focus its campaign on Talarico’s tax record and policy positions.

Trump said Friday he was prepared to spend whatever amount of money necessary to help Republican candidates, noting MAGA Inc. had approximately $1 billion in available funds and could allocate $400 million to $500 million for the midterms. Talarico has outspent Paxton on advertising, raising $72.0 million compared to Paxton’s $16.8 million. Paxton secured the Republican nomination after defeating incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the May runoff, following Trump's endorsement.

Some Republican Senate colleagues expressed concerns about Paxton's general election viability due to past controversies, including his 2023 impeachment on bribery and abuse of public trust allegations, for which he was acquitted by the state Senate. Last year, Paxton’s wife, state Sen. Angela Paxton, filed for divorce on biblical grounds. Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., urged Trump’s team to spend in Texas, estimating advertising costs at $8 million weekly. Tech billionaire Elon Musk also contributed nearly $250,000 to Paxton’s Senate bid.
