Israeli election and security officials confirmed Sunday that the results of the recent parliamentary election will stand, pushing back against claims by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Arab-led parties manipulated the outcome.

The head of Israel's elections committee, appearing alongside the attorney general and the director of the Shin Bet intelligence agency, stated that the certified outcome will not be overturned even if allegations of foreign interference are substantiated. Netanyahu's Likud party asserted that Arab-led parties stole the election after the prime minister's parliamentary bloc fell to 53 seats in the 120-member Knesset, down from 68 seats.

An opposition bloc led by Gadi Eisenkot secured 48 seats, while Arab-led parties captured the remaining 19 seats, including eight won by the Islamist party Ra'am. Likud cited the Oct. 27 pre-election arrests of three activists allegedly carrying cash envelopes to bribe voters, followed by the arrest of four additional suspects two days later. Ra'am leader Mansour Abbas rejected police claims linking the suspects to his party, calling the arrests undemocratic and an attempt to sway the election.

On Sunday, an Israeli judge questioned and rejected police requests for expanded restrictions, ordering one suspect released under unspecified conditions, placing a second under house arrest for eight days, and extending the detention of the third for two days.
