The Story
Apple is reportedly cutting hundreds of jobs across several teams, including Siri and those focused on the Vision Pro headset.
The cuts include largely shutting down a Vision Pro gaming team and reducing the size of the team that produces immersive content for the device. More than 200 jobs were affected, according to Bloomberg. The company has also laid off at least 60 employees tied to its virtual reality efforts, with one report stating an entire team dedicated to VR development was cut.
These layoffs impact staff within the Apple Vision Group and similar roles. The news comes as Apple continues to develop its immersive technologies and artificial intelligence capabilities.
