The U.S. network video pool for the White House appeared to resume operation on Friday, with CNN's media analyst Brian Stelter stating major networks plan to restart TV pool coverage of Trump events.

CNN received approval for its credentials for a pool assignment at the National Archives with U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping. This development follows reports from CNN and MS NOW that some of their reporters were denied access to the state dinner at the White House on Thursday night, despite a judge's order.

U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly, a Trump appointee, had granted a 14-day temporary restraining order on Thursday, temporarily striking down the ban of CNN, MS NOW, and Politico. The judge's order, released late Wednesday evening, mandated immediate restoration of access for up to two weeks, stating President Donald Trump's media ban was likely unconstitutional. Trump had announced the ban in a Truth Social post, claiming the three outlets constantly write or report FICTION and LIES.

The initial ban led to an extraordinary days-long standoff as major American broadcast and cable networks united in solidarity, halting all White House TV pool coverage. After the judge's order, some staff from the three organizations were initially denied entry on Thursday morning but were later readmitted to the White House.
