President Donald Trump announced Friday that the United States military carried out limited airstrikes targeting Iranian air defense systems on Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz.

Speaking upon arrival in West Palm Beach, Florida, Trump described the action as minor, stating that forces knocked out an anti-aircraft device in roughly five to fifteen minutes. Iranian state media confirmed two projectile impacts in the Suza area of Qeshm Island. Concurrently, U.S. Central Command and the State Department's Rewards for Justice program announced a reward of up to $20 million, along with possible relocation, for information regarding Iran's nuclear program, including facilities, equipment, and scientific personnel.

The military action marks the first American strikes in Iran since the U.S. midterm elections, following prior strikes on Monday against Qeshm Island, Hengam Island, and Bandar Abbas. The Iranian army claimed its air defenses intercepted a U.S. MQ-9 drone, while the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reported shooting down an MQ-1 aircraft. On Saturday, IRGC spokesperson Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi stated that Iran lifted its self-imposed 2,000-kilometer missile range restriction and is prepared to revise its nuclear doctrine if ordered by Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.

Commercial transit through the Strait of Hormuz remains heavily disrupted. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations reported 11 vessels attacked during the week ending November 6, resulting in three sunken ships and commercial vessel traffic operating 65 percent below pre-conflict levels.
