Israel Returns Teen's Body, Forces Kill Two Palestinians in West Bank

Israel has returned the body of 15-year-old Palestinian Jadallah Jihad Jumaa Jadallah, whom its forces shot dead in November 2025.

Palestinian authorities received his remains in the occupied West Bank. The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed their deaths. Amin Abu Alia, head of the al-Mughayyir village council, stated Israeli settlers attempted to steal sheep, leading to a confrontation, an army siege, and live fire. The Israeli army stated its forces entered to secure the entrance for Israeli civilians retrieving livestock and fired at key instigators during a violent riot.

Mustafa Barghouti, secretary general of the Palestinian National Initiative, described Israeli attacks in the West Bank as unprecedented and called it ethnic cleansing. Organized groups of armed Israeli settlers are conducting exploratory hikes in villages like Qira, which residents view as precursors to territorial expansion. In July, four Palestinians died in Tell near Nablus after a settler hike, followed by settlers burning homes.

The UN reports over three settler attacks per day on average this year. At least 81 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces or settlers in the West Bank since the start of the year, with 23 deaths occurring in settler attacks. Three Israelis, including security forces and civilians, have been killed by Palestinians in the West Bank over the same period.

Israel's police force arrested a 19-year-old settler on suspicion of participating in an attack on Qusra village. Food insecurity in the territory has more than doubled since 2023, with 900,000 people unable to meet their food needs. More than three-quarters of West Bank households have experienced a decline in income since 2023. Around 140,000 Palestinians from the West Bank had permits to work in Israel before October 2023; these permits have not been issued for nearly three years.
