A satirical political outfit named "Dimagi Naxal Party" (@dimaginaxalpartyy) emerged on Instagram on August 17, 2026, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Independence Day speech on Saturday, August 15. The Instagram account gained over 1,81,000 followers overnight and also has an X account. During his address from the Red Fort, PM Modi used the term dimagi Naxals while discussing Left-Wing Extremism. He stated that armed Naxalism had weakened but its ideological influence remained a concern, warning that such people needed identification and isolation. Modi said Naxal violence and ideology destroyed the future of many youths and controlled large parts of the country for decades. The phrase became a subject of political debate and online reactions. On Monday, Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal called himself a dimaagi Naxal. Kejriwal stated that individuals questioning the Bharatiya Janata Party and the central government, demanding better facilities across India, are dimaagi Naxals who desire a "Viksit Bharat." Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also attacked Congress leader P. Chidambaram, labeling him a pure Naxal. Sarma called for an inquiry into Chidambaram's record on tackling Naxalism during his government tenure. The "Cockroach Janta Party" (CJP) was created in a similar fashion, emerging after remarks by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant.
