Drones Spotted Over German Military Base Amid Hybrid Warfare Warnings

Two drones were detected flying over a German military installation in western Germany on Saturday, according to a military operational command spokesman.

The base is known to house a large underground depot. This incident follows the discovery of a drone loaded with explosives at Leipzig/Halle airport days earlier. German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt stated last week that foreign powers are posing a constant threat to Germany, warning of daily hybrid warfare attacks. He cited the Leipzig drone discovery as an example of these ongoing threats.

Algeria announced on Friday that a German citizen, kidnapped in Niger two weeks prior by a criminal armed group, had been released. Meanwhile, Germany is reportedly taking steps to counter drone threats.
