The Story
Spencer Pratt has been trolling leftist Twitch streamer Hasan Piker on X, calling him a filthy commie and observing that Piker's smug arrogance vanished the moment he had to leave the protective communist bubbles of WeHo & Soho. Separately, Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) challenged Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed to campaign with Piker, offering a $25,000 donation for every rally. Fetterman accused El-Sayed of supporting "Sharia law" and being absolutely pro-Iran and Hamas, linking him to Piker, and stated Piker really thinks that they deserve 9/11. El-Sayed has kept Piker at arm’s length, minimizing his relevance as a streamer in California since Piker made controversial remarks about Jewish institutions, Israel, and antisemitism. However, Piker stated that El-Sayed personally invited him on the campaign trail. Piker also acknowledged he may have played too big of a role in Francesca Hong's loss in the Wisconsin governor’s primary. Florida progressive Angie Nixon was repeatedly asked about Piker after winning her Senate primary, leading Piker to announce he would stay away from her race. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez dismissed Piker as just a Twitch streamer when asked about El-Sayed, and Bernie Sanders also called him just a podcaster, despite both having campaigned with El-Sayed. The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) defended Piker, criticizing both Democrats and Republicans for their comments. Piker has been accused of saying "America deserved 9/11" and wanting the streets to run red with capitalist blood. Piker, who was raised in Turkey, lives in a million-dollar home in California and was named to Rolling Stone's No. 3 spot on its annual list of top influencers in America.
