Trump is calling this new entity the "Super Intelligence Force" (SIF), rebranding AI as super intelligence.

The announcement follows Trump hosting top executives of AI companies at the White House last week, where they reportedly signed a voluntary accord to self-police technology development. The SIF is tasked with coordinating the federal government's efforts to ensure America leads the world in "Super Intelligence," which Trump described as bigger than the Industrial Revolution and the Internet.

Its mission is to protect American interests and improve lives. The task force will reach out to consumers, public interest groups, religious organizations, critical infrastructure providers, and AI companies. Clayton will retain his role as Director of National Intelligence while chairing the SIF. Other leaders on the task force include Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Pentagon Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering and Chief Technology Officer Emil Michael, and Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor.

Vice President JD Vance, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth are also among Trump's cabinet members on the new task force. The group directly reports to President Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. Its first assignment is to deliver a report within 120 days, examining AI's risks and opportunities and recommending the federal government's role in oversight.
