Jury Selection Begins in Tupac Shakur Murder Trial

Jury selection commenced on Monday in Las Vegas for the murder trial of Duane "Keffe D" Davis, accused of orchestrating the 1996 drive-by shooting death of rapper Tupac Shakur.

The trial begins nearly 30 years after Shakur was killed in Las Vegas. Prosecutors allege Davis, a former gang leader, masterminded the killing. Davis has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge. Witnesses expected to testify include individuals affiliated with rival record labels and those who saw Shakur shortly before he was shot. Suge Knight, a figure in hip-hop and associated with Shakur, stated he does not wish to testify in the trial.

Davis previously wrote a memoir detailing his alleged role in the killing, a book he now disavows, calling it fiction. The case remains one of the most famous unsolved murders in American history, with no one previously convicted in Shakur's death. The trial aims to bring resolution to the decades-old case.
