The White House is in full-on panic mode after President Donald Trump reportedly learned that two longtime advisers, Chris LaCivita and James Blair, were traveling in the Balkans to consult with a Russian-aligned government in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Trump, reportedly unaware of the trip, publicly distanced himself from the pair and threatened to fire them, according to Politico. A person close to the White House stated that the knives are now fully out for these two. LaCivita, Trump's 2024 co-campaign manager and a senior adviser to MAGA Inc., and Blair, former White House deputy chief of staff and current head of MAGA Inc., were reportedly paid hundreds of thousands of dollars through a Washington, D.C.-based firm.

They advised Republika Srpska's government ahead of its elections on Sunday, October 4. Milorad Dodik, a pro-Russian politician in Bosnia and Herzegovina, met Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 29. Dodik was banned from formally running in the October 4 elections and sentenced to one year in prison for defying decisions by the international envoy overseeing Bosnia's peace deal.

On Wednesday, Trump posted on Truth Social that LaCivita and Blair are outside consultants who do not work for me, other than as outside consultants. This post was reportedly dictated by Trump to Natalie Harp, an executive assistant. Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie suggested the episode indicates Republicans are looking beyond Trump.
