Typhoon Dolphin Hits Eastern China, Forces Million Evacuations, Grounds 1,000 Flights

Typhoon Dolphin made landfall in eastern China, bringing 100mph gales and torrential rain. Over one million people evacuated across several eastern provinces. Around 1,000 flights, 40% of total, were grounded. Dolphin is China's most powerful typhoon this year and the 13th recorded. It previously swept through Japan’s Okinawa and intensified monsoon rains in the Philippines. The typhoon is weakening, but heavy rain risks remain.
