FBI Reveals New Details on Trump Assassin Thomas Crooks
The Story
Newly revealed FBI documents provide additional information about Thomas Crooks, the 20-year-old who attempted to assassinate President Donald Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July 2024.
Crooks scaled a rooftop and fired shots, killing Firefighter Corey Comperatore and injuring two others before being killed by Secret Service agents. Federal records obtained by Fox News Digital indicate that Crooks used the alias "Bob Dole" to order ammunition and gun parts from online retailers, with parcels delivered to his parents' home. An anonymous donor paid for Crooks' cremation, which has fueled speculation.
FBI Director Kash Patel stated that Crooks acted alone and had no connections to others. Interviews with Crooks' father, Matthew Crooks, describe him as a quiet loner who developed an obsession with firearms and long-distance shooting. He reportedly used a pseudonym to conceal his purchase history and minimize his digital footprint. Crooks' father told FBI agents that his son never identified anyone as a friend and that he never really had a father/son bond with him. Crooks was critical of both Trump and Biden, despite his Republican registration. He was shot and killed after opening fire at the rally.
