President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on Tuesday that Ukraine received no prior warning from its partners about a Russian ballistic missile attack on Kyiv.

Five ballistic missiles hit civilian infrastructure in Kyiv overnight. Zelenskyy described the barrage as particularly vile and emphasized that intelligence on ballistic missile launches helps save lives and is one of the most critical issues. Air raid alerts sounded in Kyiv only after explosions were heard. Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson Yuriy Ihnat said Ukraine's air defenses could not respond in time because necessary data had not come from Western partners, blaming technical issues.

A senior Ukrainian official, speaking anonymously, said the lack of intelligence was described as a failure, suggesting circumstances like weather conditions rather than a deliberate decision. The US has reportedly threatened to cut off intelligence sharing and weapons sales to Ukraine unless it stops attacking Russian refineries. Zelenskyy said Ukraine had not targeted Russian refineries for two days since President Donald Trump's energy ceasefire announcement.

Trump announced a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday to buy diesel from Russia. Trump denied that the US has stopped sharing intelligence with Ukraine, stating America continues to do so to end the war. Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that Ukraine is still receiving US military intelligence and attributed the delay to the specifics of the weaponry Russia used.

Russia attacked Ukraine with more than 100 weapons since Monday evening, including jet-powered drones, loitering munitions, and ballistic missiles. Four people were killed and 41 injured in a Russian strike on a residential building in Kharkiv.
