Democrats Condemn Hasan Piker for Backing Iran, Criticizing United States.

Leftist Twitch streamer Hasan Piker faces scrutiny from some Democrat officials after defending the Iranian regime’s nuclear ambitions during an interview with Axios.

Piker stated he believes the United States is pound-for-pound worse than al-Qaeda. Reps. Ritchie Torres, D-N.Y., and Josh Gottheimer, D-N.J., condemned Piker's comments. Gottheimer described the comments as intentional, stating Piker built a brand on anti-American hate and said America ‘deserved’ 9/11. Torres noted Piker has a rule against criticizing Mao Zedong, whom he lionizes as one of the world’s great leaders.

Senator Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., called Piker obviously wrong about his al-Qaeda remarks. Piker previously campaigned with Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. Piker said he absolutely wants to campaign for Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) if she runs for president in 2028, and has talked with her and her team. He largely rejected returning to Michigan to campaign for Abdul el Sayed before the midterm elections.

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman (D) said he feels he has lost to Hasan Piker following the al-Qaeda comments. Political commentator Hasan Piker, 35, has been active for 13 years.
