Teen Shooter Kills Seven, Including Grandparents and Teachers, in Thailand

A 14-year-old student killed seven people, including his grandparents and five school staff members, before taking his own life at Debsirin Nonthaburi School near Bangkok.

Authorities state the teenager first shot his grandparents at home, then proceeded to the school where he opened fire on staff. The incident resulted in a total of eight deaths, including the attacker, and 22 others were wounded. Police reported the gun used in the attack belonged to the shooter's grandfather. The teenager fired 26 rounds, and investigators found an additional 34 rounds of ammunition on him.

Relatives described the suspect as a quiet, well-behaved teenager who spent much of his time playing computer games. Investigators examining the suspect's computer found evidence that he had viewed videos of school shootings in the United States in the days leading up to the attack. Police stated the Nonthaburi school attack appeared planned. A classmate described the teenager as troubled and bullied.

The five staff members killed at the school included a maths teacher, a Thai language teacher, a guidance counsellor, a student affairs administrator, and a secretary. Students at the school expressed disbelief following the deadly shooting. Authorities continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack.
