Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Freezes Eggs Amid Political Ambitions

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announced on Instagram and in an ABC "This Week" interview that she is freezing her eggs.

She stated this is a choice she is making to feel more in control of my life. Ocasio-Cortez, 36, filmed herself administering hormone injections as part of the process. She told ABC's Jonathan Karl that she believes it is important for leaders to have these conversations and share these processes, especially for working women across the country, to normalize them.

Ocasio-Cortez has not ruled out running for president or U.S. Senate, with some coverage linking her decision to her political future and potential 2028 ambitions. The announcement has drawn criticism from some conservative influencers, while others, including conservative media personality Katie Miller, have defended her decision. Miller, wife of White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, stated, "If one woman wants to preserve her right to have children, which means more than having none, we should celebrate that."
