Americans Cast Over Fifty Million Early Ballots Ahead Of Midterm Elections
The Story
More than fifty million Americans have cast early ballots as voters head toward the midterm elections determining control of the United States Congress.
President Donald Trump campaigned in Dubuque, Iowa, and Salina, Kansas, urging voters to elect America First Republicans and predicting sweeping victories on election day. Control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate hangs in the balance as Republicans defend slim majorities against Democratic challenges in battleground races across the country. Democrats need a net gain of four seats to take control of the Senate and three or four seats to win the House.
Early voting totals have surpassed figures from the previous midterm elections in 2022, with participation reaching record levels in states such as Texas. Voters confront issues including affordability and foreign policy decisions while participating in elections that historically threaten the party holding the presidency.
