Putin Warns Russia Will Use All Weapons if Directly Attacked
The Story
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia would use all weapons at disposal if there is a direct attack on the Russian Federation.
Putin specified this could mean Kaliningrad or some other territories. He made these remarks during a Q&A after his speech at the 23rd annual meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club in Moscow on Thursday. Putin claimed Russia's statements are a response to attempts to threaten them, not threats themselves. He cited statements by the western politicians and European politicians about the need and possibility and preparation for the war with Russia in 2029 and 2030.
Putin said that with NATO as a potential adversary exceeding them, Russia would not have many means to counter such a threat and would need to use its competitive advantages. He asserted the risk of using nuclear weapons is serious only if NATO's threats against Russia are serious. Putin attributed constant increased tension by many European countries to a great deterioration of economic and domestic political situation in those countries. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte condemned Russia's nuclear rhetoric, while Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev took Russia's nuclear threats seriously.
