Aleem Khan represented Pakistan at the state funeral of Norway's King Harald V in Oslo.

The funeral marked the culmination of 13 days of national mourning following the king's death at age 89. Dozens of European royals and heads of state, including the Prince of Wales and three Nordic kings, paid their last respects on Wednesday. Prince William represented his father King Charles III, and the Princess Royal attended in a personal capacity as godmother to Norway's new monarch, King Haakon.

Thousands of people lined the route during a funeral procession from the royal palace to Oslo Cathedral on Wednesday afternoon. After the ceremony and burial, the Norwegian royal family, including King Haakon, his wife Queen Mette-Marit, and his mother Queen Sonja, greeted crowds from the palace balcony. A minute's silence was observed throughout the country.

Harald, who was on the Norwegian throne for 35 years, was seen as a popular, modernizing figure. The day began with ceremonial troops assembling at Akershus Fortress, the medieval castle where Harald was later laid to rest. The procession included King Haakon, his sister Princess Märtha Louise, and his children Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus, who followed the late king's coffin on foot.

Queen Mette-Marit and Queen Sonja followed in a car. Among the 30 royal figures attending were representatives from Sweden, Jordan, Monaco, Belgium, Spain, Japan, and Denmark. Non-royal heads of state included Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, along with five foreign prime ministers.
