Netanyahu Pushes Trump for Fresh Iran Strikes Amid Diplomatic Talks
The Story
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is urging United States President Donald Trump to launch a new wave of military strikes against Iran following Tuesday midterm elections, according to regional officials.
During a phone call over the weekend described by sources as tough and direct, Netanyahu pressed for an extensive air campaign targeting Iranian nuclear facilities including Pickaxe Mountain, though Trump did not commit to military action. Trump stated publicly that he is holding back from further strikes to save lives and give diplomatic negotiations a chance through Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
Meanwhile, Tehran unveiled billboards in Tehran on Tuesday featuring President Trump behind bars and threatening him with death, alongside a mock prison cell exhibit featuring an actor impersonating the American president. Qatari mediators held two rounds of talks last week attempting to advance a framework for Iran to cease attacks in the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for the United States lifting its maritime blockade on Iranian ports, while Iranian officials stated that transferring sixty percent enriched uranium to a third country is not under consideration.
