The Story
Russian forces launched 1,940 strike drones, over 1,580 guided aerial bombs, and 44 missiles, including 36 ballistic missiles, against Ukraine over the past week, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Sunday, Nov. 1. The president warned that Moscow intends to make ballistic missiles its primary weapon this winter to exploit Ukraine’s acute interceptor shortage. Overnight strikes hit electrical substations, transformers, and power lines across the Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, and Khmelnytskyi regions, leaving hundreds of thousands of families without power.
