Trump Claims Michael Cohen Recanted Testimony in NY Hush Money Case

President Donald Trump claimed Friday that his former fixer Michael Cohen has fully RECANTED his testimony in the New York hush money case.

Trump stated on Truth Social that Cohen was pressured and coerced to provide untrue statements. He thanked Cohen for having the Wisdom and Courage to step forward and do the right thing, calling it an "Act of Bravery" that would credit the justice system. Trump asserted that Cohen's recantation meant that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and New York Attorney General Letitia James did everything "WRONG and UNLAWFUL."

He called for the termination and dismissal of any remaining cases against him, characterizing them as "Politically Weaponized Cases." Cohen was a central prosecution witness in Trump's 2024 criminal trial, testifying about a $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels and his subsequent reimbursement, which led to Trump's conviction on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.

In January, Cohen wrote in a Substack article that he felt coerced by prosecutors. However, Cohen recently told Sirius XM host Dan Abrams that his testimony was truthful and accurate.
