A suicide blast in Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan, killed 11 to 12 people and injured 30 to 35 others on Saturday.

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack, which occurred near Aman Mela in the Darazinda area. An explosives-laden vehicle was rammed into the Aman Mela police checkpost, destroying a large portion of the post and an adjacent house. DI Khan Regional Police Officer Ghulam Mubashir Maken confirmed the casualties, stating that no law enforcement or security personnel were among the deceased, who included a Customs official and civilians.

The victims comprised nine men, two women, and a minor. DI Khan District Police Officer Ziauddin Ahmed confirmed it was a suicide blast. Following the explosion, heavy firing was heard, and a rescue worker was killed with two others injured when a Rescue 1122 ambulance came under fire while transporting victims. Emergency service Rescue 1122 teams reached the scene, providing medical assistance and transporting the wounded to hospitals.

District Emergency Officer Muhammad Arif Khan ordered four additional ambulances to support rescue efforts.
