The holdout juror who prevented Lindsay Clancy from being acquitted for murdering her three children is a Catholic from a family of Haitian immigrants.

His brother revealed this information to the New York Post. The brother stated, "I don't think religion had anything to do with it." He added, "He looked at the case, and he made the call." The juror remains anonymous, but his family reportedly lives in fear of retribution. Lindsay Clancy, 36, has pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder in the 2023 deaths of her children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan.

Clancy admitted she strangled her children but argued through counsel that she was not criminally responsible due to postpartum psychosis. Her trial ended in a hung jury on September 4, with Judge William Sullivan declaring a mistrial after jurors remained deadlocked for roughly 38 hours. Multiple jurors have stated the margin was 11-1 in favor of acquitting Clancy.

Judge William Sullivan indefinitely sealed the names of the jurors on Monday, citing safety concerns and and divisive attention on the trial. Several female jurors have condemned their male colleague in interviews. One juror stated, "He had the hardest time getting off the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children." Another female juror admitted big personalities in the room were unwilling to see things from the other side.

Clancy has hired prominent attorney Martin G. Weinberg, who filed a notice of limited appearance on her behalf. Weinberg plans to file a motion to dismiss the case on double jeopardy grounds. Separately, Representative Nancy Mace of South Carolina advocated Monday that Lindsay Clancy should be publicly executed. Mace told TMZ, "Her children are dead, she should be dead too."

She defended the idea as a warning to women everywhere, you don't kill your kids. President Donald Trump ruled out a pardon, noting it is a state situation, you know, not a federal.
