Hamas Using Gaza Hospital for Interrogations, Torture, Israel Claims

Hamas is using Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, to conduct security interrogations and torture, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

Eighty-five percent of Gaza's hospitals have been used by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad for terrorism, the IDF stated. Senior Hamas official Bassem Naim told CNN that the movement remains committed to a peace roadmap for Gaza, stating, "We are still ready to continue this way to give our people on the ground the chance to revive their life, and to reach the minimum of calm, stability and peace."

Fatah and Hamas are preparing to meet in Cairo next week in a renewed push to bridge their long-running divisions and forge a common approach to mounting challenges facing the Palestinian cause, sources familiar with the talks said Friday. Donald Trump’s Board of Peace published a 15-point roadmap for Gaza in late July. This plan proposed Hamas would hand its weapons to a committee of Palestinian technocrats, certified by an international verification body, and Israel would withdraw from the strip in phases.

Israel officially rejected this proposal. The scale of destruction in the Gaza Strip caused by Israeli aircraft, bulldozers, artillery, and tanks in the war that erupted following the October 7 massacre is a cause for renewed astonishment.
