Police Stop Trespasser at Former Vice President Kamala Harris' Malibu Home
The Story
A trespasser was stopped by police at former Vice President Kamala Harris’ Malibu property on Friday night.
An unidentified woman illegally entered the property where Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff reside. Security personnel intercepted the individual before she reached the $8 million home. Harris and Emhoff were not present at the residence during the incident, according to spokesperson Eduardo Negrón. The woman arrived at the property via Uber and initially made contact with security.
After being told she could not stay, she left the premises but returned a short time later. This prompted security to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies from the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station responded around 10:30 p.m. Friday. They made contact with the woman, who was outside the residence, and advised her to leave.
She departed voluntarily, and no arrest or citation was made. The sheriff’s department took a trespassing report and will set up patrols in the area as a precaution. Lt. The incident draws attention to Harris' security arrangements after President Donald Trump revoked her Secret Service protection last year. Trump revoked the protection in August 2025, cutting short an 18-month extension President Joe Biden had authorized in January 2025.
Former vice presidents typically receive six months of Secret Service protection after leaving office. Following the revocation, Los Angeles and California law enforcement agencies scrambled to provide security. The Los Angeles Police Department discontinued its involvement, but the California Highway Patrol continues to assist. CHP officers were not on-site Friday night, according to Sgt. Christian Stevens. The woman's identity, motive, and how she entered the property remain unclear.
