William Morris Endeavor Retains Hasan Piker Amid Controversy, El-Sayed Distances Himself

William Morris Endeavor (WME), a Hollywood talent agency, continues to represent Hasan Piker, a far-left influencer, despite his controversial rhetoric.

Piker, a popular Twitch streamer, expressed amusement that WME has kept him as a client, noting his agents, Chris Jacquemin and Bennett Sherman, asked him to tone it down regarding anti-Israel commentary after October 7, 2023, to which he replied, "Fuck no." Piker has made statements such as "America deserved 9/11," called Israel much worse than Hamas, and advocated for capitalist blood to flow in the streets.

Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, who Piker supported and campaigned with during the primary, has attempted to distance himself from Piker in the general election. On CBS' Face the Nation, El-Sayed referred to Piker as a Twitch streamer in California and stated he was not interested in discussing him, preferring to focus on issues like grocery prices and healthcare.

Piker, however, claimed El-Sayed's 9/11 anniversary video was scripted and that El-Sayed can't say the f*cking truth. Rahm Emanuel, former president Barack Obama's chief of staff and Ari Emanuel's older brother, disavowed Piker and said he would give [Piker] a two-by-four upside his head for Piker's claim that Jews foster antisemitism. El-Sayed also faces scrutiny for a 2012 essay where he falsely claimed an Iraqi refugee, Shaima Alawadi, was brutally murdered in an anti-Muslim attack for wearing a hijab.

Some Muslim voters in Michigan oppose El-Sayed's stances on abortion and LGBTQ issues but still plan to vote for him for community representation. El-Sayed recently shut down prospects of campaigning with Tucker Carlson, who said he would not vote for El-Sayed's Republican opponent, Mike Rogers, at gunpoint.
