An Indian tourist was killed and three other people were injured when two private helicopters collided in mid-air while attempting to land near Pheriche village in Nepal's Solukhumbu district.

The aircraft were operated by Fishtail Air and Air Dynasty. The deceased was identified as 47-year-old Vasanth Kumar Balaramudu, an Indian national traveling aboard the Fishtail Air helicopter. A New Zealand passenger, Shailesh Krishna Patel, and the pilots of both helicopters sustained injuries. The injured individuals were airlifted to Nepal Mediciti Hospital in Kathmandu for medical treatment.

Initial reports from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal indicated that miscommunication between the pilots may have contributed to the accident, as operations in the area occur beyond the direct communication coverage of Lukla Airport's air traffic control tower. The incident occurred during Nepal's peak autumn trekking season, when helicopters transport climbers, tourists, and cargo across the mountainous region. Authorities launched an investigation into the collision to determine the exact cause and review safety regulations.
