Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani announced on Saturday that cybercriminals had published his personal data on the dark web over a period of days, exposing him and his family to threats and intimidation.

Tajani stated that his firm political stance and Italy's defense of the freedom and independence of Ukraine served as the motivation for the cyberattack. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni issued a separate statement blaming pro-Russian hackers for the leaks and expressing full solidarity with the foreign minister, describing the sale of confidential institutional information as a serious concern requiring utmost determination.

Italian national news agency ANSA and local media attributed the cyber campaign to the pro-Russian hacker group NoName057(16), which has listed eighteen individuals as enemies of the Russian Federation. Tajani emphasized that neither he nor the government would be intimidated by the cybercriminals and vowed to continue strengthening cooperation with allies to protect ministry operations and national security.
