Trump to Interview with Michael Cohen on Radio Show

Michael Cohen declined to state whether he will use his upcoming interview with Donald Trump to seek a pardon.

President Trump is expected to call into Cohen’s radio show on Thursday for their first public conversation in eight years. Cohen confirmed the interview, stating it will air on a radio show he is hosting on Thursday night, with additional excerpts on his Sunday WABC show. The interview marks an extraordinary thaw in the relationship between the two men, whose rupture played out across court filings, congressional testimony, and a tell-all book.

In summer 2025, Trump and Cohen spoke at Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, marking their first known contact in years. Cohen stated he reached out to the White House, reached out to the president, and he kindly agreed. Cohen described the exchange as mirroring the tone of their long working relationship, calling them two friends for 15 years.

Cohen, who once said he would take a bullet for Trump, pleaded guilty in 2018 to tax evasion and campaign finance violations for making hush money payments on Trump’s behalf. He served a three-year prison sentence, completed in November 2021. Cohen was the star witness in the Manhattan hush-money case that resulted in Trump's conviction on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.

Trump was convicted in the 2024 hush money case involving Stormy Daniels, but escaped prison time after winning re-election. Cohen previously called Trump a con man and a cheat, and had suggested he would move out of the country for his own safety if Trump won the 2024 election. Cohen claimed in a January Substack post that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and New York Attorney General Letitia James pressured him to provide testimony that would satisfy the government’s desire to build cases against Trump.
