Senator Ossoff Criticizes Trump's Priorities, Travel With Aide Harp

Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff criticized President Donald Trump's priorities and his travel with aide Natalie Harp in a speech in Atlanta on Sunday, August 16.

Senator Ossoff stated that Trump would rather build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar than do the job of president. Ossoff's comments alluded to morale issues on board the USS Abraham Lincoln and criticized Trump's handling of the Iran war. He accused Trump of sleeping through meetings, golfing, and trading stocks while sailors fight his war and munitions and oil reserves are drained.

Natalie Harp, 35, is the president's executive assistant and was one of three aides who joined him on a military plane flying out of Turkey last month. This travel occurred amid concerns that Iran could carry out an attempted assassination. Other White House officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Stephen Miller, were left on a decoy Air Force One. Harp is often seen by the president's side and has earned the nickname human printer for providing him with printouts of news stories and social media posts.

In 2019, Harp delivered a speech crediting Trump with saving her life after he signed the Right to Try Act into law, following her battle with stage 2 bone cancer. Harp's estranged brother, Preston Harp, told the Daily Mail in June that her relationship with Trump was very unhealthy. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated at the time that Natalie Harp is one of the most loyal and hardest working aides on President Trump's team. Harp earned her MBA from Liberty University in 2015.
