Katie Zacharia made her debut as White House press secretary on Tuesday morning, holding a briefing that lasted approximately 13 to 14 minutes.

Zacharia praised President Donald Trump, called on three reporters, and made an announcement about the US ambassador to Greece. The new press secretary appeared visibly excited, with a tense voice and audible breaths, stating she had wanted to work for him for a very long time. Much of the briefing focused on prepared remarks highlighting administration accomplishments and Trump's campaign rallies.

Zacharia called on reporters from Breitbart News, Fox News, and the Daily Mail. Zacharia succeeded Karoline Leavitt, who resigned in August after giving birth to her infant daughter. Trump named Zacharia as his pick on Friday. Zacharia previously worked as a senior communications adviser for Trump Media and Technology Group and as a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security.

She stated the White House will continue to expand the new media seat. Zacharia said Americans can expect more of a midterm blitz from President Trump, with upcoming rallies in Kentucky, Georgia, and Florida. Anonymous Trump administration officials criticized Zacharia's performance, with one telling MS NOW White House correspondent Jake Traylor that she might be on thin ice and could be fired faster than Anthony Scaramucci.
